As electric mobility develops in Albania, public charging operators need practical ways to add fast charging where drivers already park. In Tirana, that meant working with existing roadside parking rather than relying on a large, purpose-built charging hub. The project required a compact DC fast charging solution that could serve multiple vehicles and be managed efficiently across distributed urban locations.

The operator's requirements centered on two everyday constraints of urban public charging:
Parking availability in central urban areas is constrained. The charging layout therefore needed to increase the number of vehicles served at each installation point without requiring additional land.
Public charging points may be installed across different parts of the city. Remote visibility into charger status was important for reducing reliance on routine on-site checks and supporting day-to-day operations.

SETEC POWER supplied four PowerBoost 90kW integrated DC fast chargers for the Tirana project. Each unit is equipped with two CCS2 connectors, creating eight charging connectors across the deployment and allowing each charger to serve two vehicles at the same time.
The all-in-one configuration brings power conversion and charging interfaces together in a compact unit suited to roadside installations. Smart power distribution allocates available output according to the charging demand of connected vehicles, while remote monitoring gives the operator visibility into equipment status across distributed locations.
| Capability | How it supports the project |
| 90kW DC Fast Charging Output | Provides DC fast charging for everyday urban use and supports faster vehicle turnaround than conventional AC charging. |
| Dual CCS2 Charging Connectors | Supports two vehicles charging simultaneously, increasing the charging capacity of each installation point. |
| Remote Monitoring | Lets the operator view charger status remotely and supports more efficient management of distributed public charging points. |
| Smart power distribution | Adjusts how available power is shared according to the real-time charging demand of connected vehicles. |
After deployment, the project transformed roadside parking resources into public fast charging points, providing EV users in Tirana with more convenient daily charging options.
By deploying dual-connector DC fast chargers, the project improved the service capacity of each charging point, enabling the operator to expand public charging services by making better use of existing urban resources.
